Description

Neutral charmed meson pairs produced in electron-positron collisions are entangled through the quantum numbers of the intermediate photon. This entanglement enables precise measurements of CP-conserving strong-phase differences between the decay amplitudes of neutral charm mesons and their antiparticles. These strong phases are crucial inputs for extracting weak CP-violating phases from B meson decays and for interpreting neutral-charm meson mixing phenomena. I will discuss recent measurements of these entangled systems from the BESIII experiment, including recent measurements in specific decay channels, and the first demonstration of correlations in excited neutral charm meson pairs.   I will also comment on the prospects for using quantum-correlated charm decays to measure mixing parameters and search for CP violation in the charm sector.
