Description
In June 2025, the Muon g-2 experiment at Fermilab released its final measurement of the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon, a_\mu, with a precision of 127 parts per billion (ppb) when combined with its previous two results. In this talk, I will describe the experimental techniques and analysis details of the Fermilab measurement, as well as the improvements - both in statistics and in systematics - with respect to its previous results, which ultimately reduced the precision on the world average by over a factor of 4. I will also present the current status of the theoretical calculation of a_\mu, and provide an overview of the future prospects, both on the experimental and theoretical side.
