School management team

Prof Carsten P Welsch is the Director of LIV.INNO. As coordinator of five European training networks and director of more than a dozen international Schools at locations all across Europe, he is one of the most experienced postgraduate training coordinators in Europe. He will have overall responsibility for the School and its training program. His experienced project TEAM based at the Cockcroft Institute and in particular, the LIV.INNO Centre Manager Naomi Smith will provide support throughout the School, in particular in view of external communication and press, as well as the organization of the planned social events.

Dr David Hutchcroft is Deputy Director of LIV.INNO and a member of the University of Liverpool’s Particle Physics group. He has extensive experience in HPC and grid computing and has been leading physics data analysis projects for many years. He will lead the formation of the program of speakers for this event.

Dr Andreea Font is Deputy Director of LIV.INNO and part of the Astrophysics Research Institute at Liverpool John Moores University. She is an expert in computational Astrophysics. She will lead the venue logistics planning as she is a member of staff at LJMU. She will also contribute to the planning of the talks program.

Prof Monica D’Onofrio is Deputy Head of the Department of Physics at the University of Liverpool, member of the ATLAS Collaboration at the LHC and Team Leader of the ATLAS Liverpool group. She will contribute to the planning of the talks program.

Dr Alex Hill is the Data Science Fellow in the Department of Physics at the University of Liverpool. He was previously a student in the LIV.DAT CDT. He will contribute to the planning of the talks program.

Constantinos Astreos is a Business Development Manager at the University of Liverpool and based in the physics department. He will oversee industry contributions and provide the link to existing industry partners.

Professor Simon Hands is a member of staff in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Liverpool, the Community Development Director of DiRAC High Performance Computing and the Partner Liaison lead in LIV.INNO. He will also contribute to the planning of the talks program
